Tourism watchdog tells Russians Turkey unsafe to travel
MOSCOW, Aug 11 (PRIME) -- The Federal Agency for Tourism has warned Russians about a possible danger of travelling to Turkey, the authority said in a statement on Friday.
Media reported earlier that a higher number of tourists have been recently forced to stop their holidays in there early because of a sickness caused by the Coxsackie virus infection. The local Healthcare Ministry denied the information.
The Russian authority said, “The Federal Agency for Tourism strongly recommends Russian citizens take into account the current threat to health safety of tourists while deciding to go to Turkey.”
It also said that it called tour operators to inform all tourists about the infection danger in the country.
